On New Year's Eve, Darrin and the kids and I spent the day at Legoland (Santa got us season passes for Christmas, and it's only like a 15 minute drive from our house). Here's our little adventurers with a couple of lego pals.
Here's the cutest fire-fighting duo around. Let me tell you, it's a good thing they're so cute, because they really aren't very effective fire-fighters. There's this "ride" at Legoland where you have to pump your fire engine down a little street and then hop out and spray the fire with water, get back into the fire truck and pump back to the beginning. Yeah, we weren't so fantastic. Darrin said next time he's not going to let the kids "help", he's just going to do it by himself and save the family's rep.
My favorite part of Christmas morning-watching Connor and Lily make a total disaster area of the living room with all of the gift wrap. This was them catching their breath after their reign of terror was complete.
So, here's my little Lily Angel and her preschool friends singing to us at the end of their Nativity play. Isn't she just so cute? For those of you wondering, she actually said the correct line in her play. The first time she said it, it was so quiet nobody could even hear her. Then when Angel #2 (Sydney) was halfway through her lines, Lily looked directly at me and yelled quite loudly "Fear Not Mom!". She just wanted to make sure I saw that she said the correct line, because I had made it perfectly clear that morning that saying "underpants" was completely out of the question. Of course, I had already stopped filming her at that point, I've learned my lesson for next year-don't stop filming!!!
Here's actual video coverage of the Christmas morning gift-wrap madness. It's quite long, but after a minute you'll get the idea of the utter pandemonium.
So, after the day at Legoland on New Year's Eve, we went over to our friend's the Campbell's house. Our other friends, The Boney's, were there as well as various family members of Cindy and Derek's (that's the Campbell parents). We had so much fun!! We love the Campbells, their daughter Maddy is Connor's best friend (really she's his lady, but we don't acknowledge that cause they both get embarrassed). It was a very chill, relaxed evening until about 10:00. Some of us were ready to leave with the little ones, so the kids had a fake New Year, complete with horns and confetti poppers. It basically sounded like a herd of dying geese and lots of yelling and popping. Once the poppers started, Lily just stood there and covered her ears. After a minute of that, she started crying and had to be taken inside. She's so weird, I think she has PTS disorder. But, all in all, it was a great day and night!!!
